Evaluations
Cost: $195 for the Standard Evaluation (60 minutes) or $350 for the Comprehensive Evaluation (90 minutes). Free 30-minute consultation first if you want help choosing.

What this is
A single, unhurried visit that answers the question you actually came in with: what is wrong, why is it happening, and what do I do about it. You leave with a working diagnosis, an explanation you understand, and a written plan in your hands. Not a plan I keep in a chart, a plan you keep.
This is a one-time visit by design. Some people take the plan and run with it. Some people continue into Training with a PT or a series of treatment visits. Both are fine, and I am not going to pressure you toward either.
Who this is for
- You are dealing with pain or an injury and want a real answer instead of a 20-minute appointment and a printed handout.
- You have been to physical therapy before, did the exercises, and never got a clear explanation of what was actually going on.
- You are pre-surgical or post-surgical and want an independent plan alongside what your surgeon prescribed.
- You have an imaging report you do not understand and want someone to translate it against what your body is actually doing.

Which should you pick? Standard is right for a single, fairly clear problem: one joint, recent onset, and you mostly need direction. Comprehensive is right for anything complex or long-standing: multiple areas involved, a year or more of symptoms, post-surgical recovery, or a case where you want the whole plan built out rather than a starting point. If you cannot tell, book the free consultation and I will tell you which one you need, including if the answer is the cheaper one.
What to expect during the visit
- First 15 to 20 minutes: the interview. Your history, what makes it better and worse, what you have already tried, prior injuries, training background, and what you are trying to get back to. This is where most of the diagnosis actually comes from.
- Next 20 to 30 minutes: the exam. Range of motion, strength testing, joint-specific special tests, palpation, and watching you move through whatever provokes your symptoms. In the Comprehensive Evaluation this extends into formal performance testing with numbers recorded.
- Then: the explanation. I tell you what I think is going on and why, using language you can repeat to someone else. If imaging or a physician referral is warranted, I say that.
- Finally: treatment and the plan. We start treatment in the same visit rather than making you come back for it, and I walk you through your program before you leave.
Wear or bring clothing you can move in, and bring any imaging reports, surgical notes, or prior therapy paperwork you have.
Where it happens

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a referral?
No. Colorado is a direct access state, so you can see a physical therapist without a physician referral. If I find something during the exam that belongs in a physician’s hands, I will tell you and help you get there.
Is dry needling included?
Yes, if it is clinically indicated and you consent to it, there is no additional charge during an evaluation. Details on what that involves are on the Functional Dry Needling page.
Why is $350 more than other clinics charge for an evaluation?
Because most evaluations are 30 to 45 minutes with documentation time built in and a plan that lives in a chart. The Comprehensive Evaluation is 90 minutes, ends with a written 8-week program and a full report with your baseline numbers in it, includes a follow-up check-in, and I come to you. If you do not need all of that, the $195 Standard Evaluation exists precisely so you are not paying for it.
Can I use insurance?
Not directly with me. If insurance is what you need, see me at CACC Physical Therapy in Parker instead. I can provide a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement if you want to submit it yourself, but I cannot promise what your plan will pay.
What if I need more visits after this?
Follow-up treatment visits are $120 for 45 minutes. If your issue is more about capacity and progression than symptoms, Training with a PT is usually the better and cheaper path forward.
How soon can I be seen?
Usually within a week. I see cash-pay patients on weekday afternoons, some evenings, and weekends. Reach out with a couple of windows that work and we will find one.
Cash-pay, and why it works this way
Everything on this page is paid directly, not billed to insurance. That is a deliberate choice, not a workaround. It means a full hour of my attention with no prior authorization delays, no visit caps set by a third party, and no treatment decisions shaped by what a payer will reimburse. You know the cost before you walk in.
If you would rather use your insurance benefits, that is a completely reasonable choice and I can still help. I see insurance-based patients at CACC Physical Therapy in Parker, Colorado.
Payment is due at the time of service. I accept card, HSA, and FSA cards. I can provide a superbill on request if you want to submit for out-of-network reimbursement yourself, though I cannot guarantee what your plan will pay.
Ready to start, or still deciding?
The 30-minute consultation is free and carries no obligation. If a different service is the better fit, I will tell you that instead of selling you this one.
